Blenheim Partnerships is delighted to announce the appointment of Ed Parker, who will head a new Special Risks Insurance Unit, launching early this summer.
Parker brings a wealth of market-leading expertise in the marine trade disruption and political risks arena, positioning Blenheim to strengthen its capabilities in highly specialised and complex risk areas. His mandate will focus on building a diverse book of business spanning consequential loss, political risk, contract frustration, and trade credit lines, supported by Blenheim and a consortium of following markets.
Peter Scales, CEO of Blenheim Partnerships, commented: “The exciting addition of Ed to the Blenheim team brings a second highly specialised line to the group’s portfolio this year, following the addition of the Bloodstock portfolio led by Tara Woodward. I am delighted that our independent group structure that underwrites on behalf of external capital, trade, as well as its own balance sheet, continues to attract and provide a platform for such a high calibre of underwriting expertise that can sometimes get lost in larger organisations.”
This appointment marks another significant step in Blenheim’s mission to empower entrepreneurial underwriting teams through strategic collaboration. Established in 2019, Blenheim Partnerships provides a dynamic MGA platform supported by both Lloyd’s and Non-Lloyd’s capacity, including Blenheim Syndicate 5886.
By combining specialist expertise with flexibility, Blenheim creates an environment where ambitious teams and purposeful professionals can thrive. With the launch of this new unit, the business continues to deliver innovative solutions to clients navigating complex and evolving risks.
