Specialty Reinsurance

John joined the White Bear Group in 2018 to establish the Specialty Reinsurance Account for Blenheim and is also Chief Underwriting Officer of White Bear Managers. John has worked for over 30 years in both the Lloyd’s and Company markets, focusing on all classes of reinsurance business as well as supporting and setting up MGA platforms. Before joining White Bear Group in 2018, John was Head of Treaty Underwriting at Talbot Syndicate 1183 where he worked for 19 years. Prior to this he was a Treaty Underwriter at Reliance National UK and from the start an Assistant Underwriter at R. C. Barber Syndicate 512 working across both insurance and reinsurance lines.

Jonathan started his career in 2009 at Hiscox on the graduate scheme, working as a Claims Underwriter in the Marine and Energy team. He moved to the Treaty team to underwrite North American Property and Specialty treaty excess of loss business in 2012 and began writing and developing Cyber treaty products from 2015. In 2018, Jonathan joined Radius Specialty, an MGA focusing on Specialty reinsurance, in particular Cyber. Jonathan joined Blenheim in April 2023. He is ACII qualified and read Modern History at the University of Oxford.

Chris has been in the London Reinsurance market for over 30 years, joining Blenheim in September 2022 from Axa XL where he spent 11 years working in the London office of their Global Specialty Reinsurance team. At Axa XL (previously Catlin Syndicate 2003) he was a Senior Underwriter with a focus on Marine, Energy, Terrorism, Retro, Aviation and Political Risk classes of business. Prior to this Chris was at Chaucer Syndicate 1084 in the Ceded Re team, and before that worked at both Benfield and Miller Re Specialty broking teams. Chris started his journey in the London market at Sturge Syndicates 206 and 209 as an Underwriting Assistant.

Stephanie started her career in 2005 at Willis Re in the marine and energy division before joining Tamesis as an Assistant Underwriter in 2012. She was involved in all elements of the account including property, terror, aviation and with a particular focus on marine and energy. Here she was promoted to Underwriter, responsible for the international marine and energy book as well as writing London market reinsurance and retro business. She left Tamesis in 2017, joining Blenheim to work with John Cutts underwriting the newly established Specialty account. Stephanie is ACII qualified.
